Lake Tahoe Real Estate Spring Selling Season

February 22, 2021 by D. Blaine Smith

The spring season in Lake Tahoe is when many people start to think about real estate around the area. The warm weather and a change in mindset help homeowners with the decision-making process. Because many tourists come to the Lake Tahoe area in the summer months, the process for selling starts in mid spring. Typically, in Lake Tahoe most of the homes will be listed for sale in the Summer. That being said, the springtime is a great time to get your home on the market before the summer rush. The Lake Tahoe real estate spring selling season is often overlooked. Get your home on the market before the majority of the homeowners and have less competition with a strong buying audience. Because there’s less competition you will probably end up getting more money for your house. When the inventory is low a seller should take advantage of the situation. On the flip side, buyers will see the inventory grow as the spring months come to an end. Because there is typically a lot of sellers in these months, buyers with specific criteria will be better off finding their dream home. Spring is when everything in the real estate industry starts to ramp up. Between buyers and sellers there is usually plenty around the area. Lake Tahoe is a tourist destination, and the spring and summer months are usually the busiest. We tend to see a lot of activity in the market around the end of spring and summer. As an agent I would recommend getting in contact as soon as possible during the spring in order to figure out the best options for you. Make sure you start the process nice and early so you can be sure to understand what type of market you are dealing with at that point and time. Don’t overlook spring in Lake Tahoe as there is always a chance for great real estate opportunities.
